Post #2 is…..using a re-usable water bottle! Not only is this an eco-friendly tip because you’re not using plastic water bottles that get used once and then create litter and more waste in our landfills, but it is also a healthy choice. I take my water bottle with me everywhere I go and not only do I end up drinking more water but, I’m not tempted to stop at a convenience store to grab a bottle of water, or even worse some kind of soda that’s not good for me. Also, I have a separate water bottle for my dog for when we go hiking or to the dog park because he gets thirsty too of course and there’s just something about sharing my water bottle with him that grosses me out. Switching to a re-usable water bottle will not only make you drink more water which is always a good thing, but it will cut down on the amount of trash you produce and also save you money in the long run. I provided a picture of the bottles I use just in case you were curious, drink up everyone!

Ok, so a little while ago I posted on here that I’m going to start posting about living MSG-free and how I’ve changed my lifestyle to be healthier and more eco-friendly. I feel like a complete dietary overhaul almost always leads to you thinking about how you can live healthier in general and that’s exactly what happened with me.
I was sick almost every time I ate for years, sometimes worse than others. I tried eating gluten-free (that was the worst week ever), I became lactose intolerant for a little while out of the blue, and it wasn’t until I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease in March of last year that I really started paying closer attention to my body. So here I am, after months of trial and error, living as MSG-free as possible. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. These days, if something is prepackaged it most likely has MSG in it. Before I go any further I should explain what MSG is. It’s Monosodium Glutamate and without getting too complex and confusing, it’s pretty much an addictive that occurs naturally in some foods but is added to prepackaged foods pretty much to make them taste better and to make you eat more of it. Have you ever started eating a bag of Doritos and before you know it half the bag is empty? That’s because Doritos have some of the highest amounts of MSG out of any prepackaged food. Needless to say, no more Doritos for this girl. I could go on and on for days about which foods to avoid but if you think you might have an allergy as well or are just interested in trying to eat MSG-free a simple google search will give you plenty of info, or just ask me!
So it’s only fitting for me to make my first post about living a healthier lifestyle about 1) AVOIDING MSG AT ALL COST! If you eat fresh foods, cook food yourself, and try to stick to vegetarian options when you go out to eat it’s really not as hard as you might think and you will start to see and feel a positive change almost immediately.
Keep an eye out for more posts in the coming days and weeks, I’ll be posting on Mondays and Fridays!

So it’s been a mix of books, documentaries, food allergies and just my conscience in general that has led me to live a more natural lifestyle lately. Some of my friends and family think I’m just being a hippie but it’s something I’ve become passionate about and I would like to share my experiences with the tumblr world. So keep an eye out for my homemade recipes, lifestyle changes and more “green” living tips in the upcoming days and weeks!

I keep seeing and hearing so many people say, “Well it’s supposed to be Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve”. Well Eve was probably a bitch and most likely cheated on him, which made Adam lose all hope in women all together and he confided in Steve and they’re really happy together.Good for them. If you want me to believe the story you’ve been told, then listen to my story too or shut the fuck up. The end.
